This current exhibition is a collection of the finest contemporary photographs, carefully curated and featuring the work of five exceptionally diverse photographers; Terry O'neill, Frank Horvat, Gered Mankowitz, John Swannell and Paul Graham. The images chosen articulate the diverse range of existing photographic art available from our unique gallery, putting us in the spotlight as one of the world's leading photographic galleries.
Frank Horvat's classic series of Paris - from Folies Bergere and Rue Saint Denis - capture the essence and atmosphere of 1950's Paris burlesque. His then contemporary style of fashion reportage and almost voyeuristic approach is toned down through masterful lighting and printing, leaving plenty to the imagination.
John Swannell's classic black and white fashion photographs feature David Bowie's wife, the stylish model Iman, being exhibited at Tristan's Gallery for the first time alongside a collection of fine, platinum prints from John Swannell's recent book, "Nudes."
As a new photographer to Tristan's Gallery and one of the greatest rock and roll photographers from the sixties, Gered Mankowitz's collection includes the iconic portrait of Jimi Hendrix as well as images of the Rolling Stones.
New and previously unseen celebrity portraits by Terry O'neill enhance the collection, including portraits taken this year in his capacity as official photographer for Nelson Mandela's grand 90th birthday celebration in London. These portraits include two of the statesman Mandela himself, as well as Amy Winehouse and new additions to the gallery feature Audrey Hepburn, The Who and Paul Newman.
To free up wall space we are offering a few remaining pieces from our summer exhibition at a generous discount.
Exhibition runs from 1st December to 10th January. Closed Christmas day, Boxing day and 1st January.
