Tony Bowran was born in Yorkshire and studied Photography at The London College of Printing in the mid 70's before setting up his studio in Chelsea. His award winning figurative, still Life and Landscape Photography has been published in Britain, Europe and America and has been exhibited in London. He feels that his work has always been primarily inspired by painters as opposed to other Photographers and cites Giorgio Morandi and Sir William Nicholson's "wonderfully quiet styles" as great influences. In fact his Gold Award winning Tools series was directly inspired by The Modern American painter Jim Dine's Five Themes. He lives with his wife in London and Cornwall.
