Lillian Baseman

Working for Harpers Bazaar from the 1940 through 1960s, Lillian Baseman brought a sophisticated new aesthetic to fashion photography with her elegant and moody images. Full of mystery sensuality and expressionistic glamour, Baseman's dramatic black and white photographs capture secret moments and dream memories. Baseman has been honoured internationally with a number of exhibitions and one-person shows in New York, Milan, Paris and London. Vanity fair magazine has singled her out as one of photography's "grand masters.
